The TAMRON 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC is an all-in-one zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame that covers a broad focal length range from 28mm wide-angle to 300mm telephoto with superior imaging performance. It achieves a zoom ratio of 10.7x with a length of just 126mm (5″) and a weight of only 610g (21.5oz). The lens is equipped with the VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism for quick and accurate focus throughout the entire zoom range. It also features TAMRON’s VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism to ensure sharp hand-held images when shooting at the 300mm tele end and in low-light. With an MOD of 0.19m (7.5″) and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.8 at the wide end, you can enjoy the world of wide macro photography. And it includes a Focus Set Button and a connector port for the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility™ software to expand the scope of expression for still images and video. With Moisture-Resistant Construction, and protective Fluorine Coating on the front element to round out its compelling features, the new 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC lets users take photos in an extremely wide range situations with just one lens.

The 28-300mm F/4-7.1 Di III VC VXD (Model A074) is a new challenge for TAMRON, a pioneer in all-in-one zoom lenses. Its greatest feature is the zoom range that extends 10.7x. Responding to feedback from all-in-one zoom lens users wanting to enjoy shooting with greater telephoto reach, TAMRON designed the lens to start at 28mm, with a newly expanded reach to 300mm telephoto. We have pursued a filter size of Ø67mm for a design that fits in the hands of many users despite the 300mm zoom range. This single lens handles a wide range of shooting situations and provides multiple angles of view suitable for landscapes, snapshots, portraits, sports, daily life, day by day seasonal changes, travel and photographs enhanced by the compression effects that occur at telephoto. Even if you do not have a specific subject in mind, the 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC allows you to respond to all your “”shooting needs”” without changing lenses.
Outstanding performance across the entire zoom range
The 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC features an optical construction of 20 elements in 13 groups to deliver high image quality and high resolution. Because of an optical design that includes one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and one LD (Low Dispersion) special lens element, chromatic aberration and other artifacts are efficiently controlled. As an all-in-one zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras, the lens boasts class-leading high image quality. This lens features TAMRON’s BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating to suppress ghosting and flare, producing distinct, clear images even in backlit conditions. These features support the free creation of works that are not influenced by shooting position.
Surprisingly compact and lightweight zoom with a powerful 10.7x range
Despite covering a wide range of focal lengths from 28mm at the wide end to 300mm at the telephoto end (10.7x zoom overall), the 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC is portable with a length of just 126mm (5″”) and a light weight of 610g (21.5oz). This lens is also recommended for those who want to keep their bag small and lightweight, as the lens is easy to take with you, even as a second lens, wherever you go and does not tire you out after long periods of shooting. In addition, users can enjoy wide macro photography with an MOD of 0.19m (7.5″”) at the 28mm wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.8, making this lens extremely versatile. Furthermore, the lens makes it easy to frame accurately when shooting still and moving images while zooming in and out, such as sports and wildlife, and is designed to be comfortable to use.

To ensure smooth and speedy focusing across the 10.7x zoom range, the 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC is equipped with TAMRON’s linear motor focus mechanism VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive). The fastest and most accurate AF in TAMRON’s history overturns the stereotype of all-in-one zoom lenses having slow autofocus and is optimized to assure that users do not miss good photo opportunities. As the lens is extremely quiet and features excellent focus tracking for moving objects, it performs well when shooting both still images and video in a broad range of situations, including conditions that require silence, moving subjects such as sports activities, aircraft, wild birds—the list goes on and on. With this one versatile lens, you are ready to handle an extraordinarily wide range of shooting situations with ease.
TAMRON’s proprietary VC suppresses camera shake to provide stability in shooting
Despite its compact size, the 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC is equipped with TAMRON’s proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism to ensure steady shooting. This effectively suppresses the camera shake that is likely to occur when shooting in the telephoto range or under low-light conditions. Users can enjoy stable shooting at telephoto ranges of up to 300mm without a tripod. Additionally, at focal lengths up to 100mm, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are applied to provide vibration compensation with videography in mind.
Compatible with TAMRON Lens Utility™ software
The 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC is compatible with the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility software (for computers and Android™ 1 OS) that was developed in-house by TAMRON2. This software allows various lens and camera settings to be assigned to the Focus Set Button located on the lens. Also, the lenses’ firmware3 can be updated to the latest version when available. In addition, functions unique to the mobile version can be operated remotely without touching the lens. Users may customize functions for various still photography and videography shooting styles, thereby providing a more personalized and fulfilling shooting experience.
Unified 67mm filter size
Great things come in compact packages! This lineup* includes other lenses that share the same filter diameter of 67mm. Lenses in this series feature small and light designs suitable for pairing with mirrorless cameras, and the filter diameter of each lens is the same 67mm. In addition to providing excellent portability when carrying multiple lenses, costly Polarizers, ND and other filters can be used interchangeably. Plus, the hassle of looking for different-sized lens caps when switching lenses has been eliminated. Zoom Ring, Focus Ring
Grip texture has been improved by redesigning the striped pattern on the rubber focusing and zoom rings. Certain internal parts have also been enhanced. These advancements result in smoother overall operability. TAMRON has also adjusted the stiffness and torque of the zoom ring to facilitate smoother and more precise operation.

New Sculpted Shape
The diameters of the zoom ring and focus ring have been enlarged, and the body areas around them have been slimmed down to give the lens a contoured profile that makes it easier to grip. This creates a comfortable, uneven shape that fits snugly and naturally in the hand.
Deep, Luxurious Black Exterior Finish
The surface of the lens exterior is shiny black, much glossier than previous models. Improved abrasion resistance makes the lens harder to scratch and resists fingerprints.
Brand Ring
The “brand ring” on the lens mount is a sign of trust with the user, and the smooth curved surface and glossy surface treatment give the camera a unique and dignified appearance that is pleasing to both the eye and the hand.

TAMRON has long been an innovator of coating technologies that prevent ghosting and flare. Second-generation BBAR-G2 Coating is a groundbreaking advancement that provides vastly improved performance compared to the original BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating. The coating corrects for ghosting and flare to an unprecedented extent and renders fine subject detail with true clarity and stunning contrast even under backlit conditions.
The 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC VXD has a switch that can lock the zoom ring at the 28mm focal length if desired. This prevents the unwanted extension of the lens barrel due to the weight of the lens during transportation.
For greater protection when shooting outdoors, leak-resistant seals throughout the lens barrel help protect your equipment.
The front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound that is water- and oil-repellent. The lens surface is easier to wipe clean and is less vulnerable to the damaging effects of dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints.
The 20-40mm F2.8 is compatible with the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility software for computers and devices with Android™ [1] OS that was developed in-house by TAMRON[2]. TAMRON Lens Utility will let users customize focus ring settings and update to the latest firmware[3] when necessary. In addition, by using the Mobile version, Focus Preset and A-B Focus is available, and those functions can be operated remotely without touching the lens. Users may customize functions for various still photography and videography shooting styles, thereby providing a more personalized and fulfilling shooting experience.
