TAMRON Lens Utility™ is innovative software designed to enhance the functionality of TAMRON lenses with a Connector Port (USB Type-C). It allows photographers to customize various lens functions and update firmware directly from a computer or smartphone. Users can personalize focus settings by adjusting the focus ring sensitivity, switching between linear and non-linear adjustments, and setting custom focus points, which is particularly beneficial for precise video shooting. The software also enables customization of lens buttons, allowing specific functions such as focus preset or AF/MF switching, thus streamlining workflow. Firmware updates ensure lenses are always equipped with the latest features and improvements, maintaining optimal performance and compatibility with new camera bodies and technologies. By providing these customization options, TAMRON Lens Utility™ empowers photographers to tailor their equipment to their unique shooting styles, making photography more intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable, and allowing for greater creative expression in both photography and videography.

their equipment to match their unique shooting style, enhancing creativity and enjoyment. Whether adjusting focus settings, configuring custom buttons, or updating the lens firmware to the latest version, TAMRON Lens Utility™ empowers photographers to optimize their gear for their specific needs, making the photographic experience more intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable.
A-B Focus
Lets you smoothly and easily shift focus from one subject to another
This function allows you to shift focus at a preset speed, as is frequently done when recording video. Get exactly the kind of visual expression you want, for example, by slowly shifting the focus from a distant subject to one closer to you, or by guiding the gaze of the person viewing the video. Use the Focus Set Button or Remote Set Button to record two preset focal points in advance. Afterwards, a simple press allows you to shoot while moving focus automatically and at a set speed; you don’t have to worry about the speed blur associated with manual focus, and you can achieve stable visual expression.
New Digital Follow Focus (DFF), Focus Stopper, Focus Marker & Focus Ease on TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile
DFF function so that users can easily enjoy follow focus on a smartphone and tablet screen, a key function in video production. In addition to the Focus Stopper feature available in Ver.3.0, with Ver.4.0, you can place 3 markings using the focus ring appearing on the DFF screen. Between these markings, you can pull focus manually or even have the focus to move automatically from one focus point to another. When making the focus to shift automatically, the focus travel time can be set, putting the videographer’s intention into the focus work.
When using the marker function, you can create a gradual transition on focusing. The Ease setting allows you to set a slow or fast focus transition in the beginning and at the end of the focus shifts. The ease effect will vary depending on the set figure.

Focus Preset
Move focus to a prerecorded focal point with one press
This function allows you to preset focal points, for example, to deliberately defocus a subject during a video transition or to access a focal point for night photography. You can set the focus travel time when recording video. You can also set focus on a preset focal point at maximum speed with a single press when taking still photographs. This feature broadens the range of your visual expression.
NEW Focus Limiter
Choose the focus search range to best suit your photography situation
The Focus Limiter helps you to avoid accidental focus on a subject, for example when there is something located in front of your subject.
By limiting the focus range, when the focus moves unintentionally you can quickly focus back to your subject again.
TAMRON’s unique functions

– There are choices to momentarily limit or free the focus search range

NEW Astro Focus Lock (Astro FC-L)
The Astro Focus Lock (Astro FC-L) is a specialized function designed to enhance focusing precision for astrophotography by automatically fixing the focal point at infinity. This feature eliminates the need for manual adjustments, ensuring that distant celestial objects, such as stars and planets, remain sharply in focus. Once engaged, the focus ring is disabled until the lock is released, preventing any accidental deviations that could occur during operation, particularly in the dark or during long exposures. This function is ideal for Astro photographers, as it helps maintain consistent sharpness throughout extended captures, reducing the risk of blurred images caused by slight shifts in focus. Overall, the Astro FC-L simplifies the complex task of focusing in astrophotography, making it more accessible and reliable for users at all levels.
Focus Ring Function Setting
Makes manual focus easier to use
[MF Method]
This function adjusts focus movement when using manual focus. You can choose between “Non-linear,” where the amount of focal point movement changes based on how fast you rotate the focus ring, and “Linear,” where the focal point moves based on how much you rotate the focus ring. Some lenses allow users to adjust rotation as well, to offer more personalization.
[MF Ring Rotation]
This function changes the direction the focus ring rotates during manual focus.
Select AF/MF
Switch between Autofocus and Manual Focus
This function switches between AF and MF using the Focus Set Button on lenses that lack an AF/MF switch. This makes operation easier when shooting scenes that require frequent use of AF/MF switching.
Other Functions
Ring Function (Focus/Aperture)
Switch function from focus adjustment to aperture adjustment
This changes the Focus Ring Function from focus adjustment to aperture adjustment using the Focus Set Button.
Assign Function from the Camera
Functions of the camera body can be assigned to the Focus Set Button
This reassigns the Focus Set Button to activate the function that you assign to it via the camera body.
