The 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A063) is a fast-aperture standard zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras delivering outstanding resolution and superb overall performance in a lightweight and compact design.

TAMRON, a pioneer in compact fast-aperture standard zoom lenses for mirrorless cameras, offers the 28-75mm F2.8 G2 for Sony E and Nikon Z mounts. The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 lens is compact, easy to use, and delivers exceptional optical performance, making it ideal to pair with the latest high-resolution mirrorless cameras. Its autofocus system uses the VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor for fast, precise, and quiet focusing. This lens is also excellent for close-up photography, with an MOD of 0.18m (7.1″) at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7.

New 2nd-Generation Lens Design Improves Optical Performance, Operation and Ergonomics

Elevate your photography with the TAMRON 28-75mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2, crafted for Sony E and Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. Ideal for portraits, landscapes, and everyday shooting, this lens offers unparalleled resolution and performance in a sleek, lightweight design, with stunning bokeh effects expected of fast-aperture lenses.

Featuring TAMRON's advanced VXD autofocus motor, it delivers lightning-fast, precise autofocus for capturing every moments accurately. Achieve impressive close-ups with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7 at 28mm. The TAMRON 28-75mm F2.8 G2 redefines your photographic experience.

Outstanding high-resolution performance delivers an unprecedented photo experience

With the goal of producing outstanding high image quality befitting a new fast-aperture zoom lens, TAMRON redesigned the optical design in the new 28-75mm F2.8 G2 from scratch. The optical construction employs 17 elements in 15 groups. To minimize optical aberrations to an extreme degree, two LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements are used in an optimal arrangement. The lens demonstrates high resolving power to the edges of the frame at all focal lengths, while also offering the soft and beautiful bokeh that is distinctive to fast-aperture lenses. The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 provides a lightweight and compact size while achieving significant improvements to resolution and overall performance across the entire zoom range. The new standard zoom is ideal for a wide range of photographic genres from street photography and portraiture to landscapes and general family events like vacations and holidays.

Capture all the action with high-speed, high-precision VXD AF

The AF drive system is equipped with VXD linear motor focus mechanism. VXD is exceptionally responsive and operates at high speed with great precision. With reliable, speedy focusing from the MOD to infinity and extremely good focus tracking, you are ready for those important moments even when photographing fast-moving subjects. Moreover, the AF drive motor is very quiet, making it ideal for still photography and videography when shooting in conditions where near-silence is required.

Lightweight and compact lens body

The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is a fast-aperture standard zoom lens in a remarkably compact and lightweight design, just 117.6mm (4.6″) long, with a maximum diameter of 75.8mm and weight of only 540g (19oz)*. With a size that is easy to carry and a weight that’s well-suited for handheld shooting for extended periods, the 28-75mm F2.8 G2 will become your best choice for travel, street shooting, everyday carry, and spontaneous photo opportunities.

*Length and weight are based on the Sony-mount lens.

Achieves an MOD of 0.18m (7.1") and maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7

Get closer to any subject and enjoy the world of wide macro photography. The MOD of the 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is 0.18m (7.1″) at 28mm allowing photographers to capture powerful shots that emphasize the perspective effects unique to wide-angle photography when shooting close-ups. The working distance is 4.4cm (1.7″) at MOD. The maximum magnification ratio is 1:2.7. In addition, at the telephoto end the MOD is 0.38m (15″). Zoom Ring, Focus Ring

Grip texture has been improved by redesigning the striped pattern on the rubber focusing and zoom rings. Certain internal parts have also been enhanced. These advancements result in smoother overall operability. TAMRON has also adjusted the stiffness and torque of the zoom ring to facilitate smoother and more precise operation.

* For Model A063

New Sculpted Shape

The diameters of the zoom ring and focus ring have been enlarged, and the body areas around them have been slimmed down to give the lens a contoured profile that makes it easier to grip. This creates a comfortable, uneven shape that fits snugly and naturally in the hand.

Deep, Luxurious Black Exterior Finish

The surface of the lens exterior is shiny black, much glossier than previous models. Improved abrasion resistance makes the lens harder to scratch and resists fingerprints.

Brand Ring

The “brand ring” on the lens mount is a sign of trust with the user, and the smooth curved surface and glossy surface treatment give the camera a unique and dignified appearance that is pleasing to both the eye and the hand.

TAMRON has long been an innovator of coating technologies that prevent ghosting and flare. Second-generation BBAR-G2 Coating is a groundbreaking advancement that provides vastly improved performance compared to the original BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating. The coating corrects for ghosting and flare to an unprecedented extent and renders fine subject detail with true clarity and stunning contrast even under backlit conditions.

For greater protection when shooting outdoors, leak-resistant seals throughout the lens barrel help protect your equipment. The Connector Port is the water-proofed USB Type-C variety.

The front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound that is water- and oil-repellent. The lens surface is easier to wipe clean and is less vulnerable to the damaging effects of dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints.
