Next time you’re out and about in your town, bring your camera with you! No matter where you live, you’ll find plenty of unique shots and subject matter to photograph. And in this blog post from the camera lens manufacturer experts at Tamron, we’ll give you a few tips on how to prepare and capture excellent photos while you’re out and about!
TIP 1: Go with An All-In-One Zoom Lens
You don’t want to be lugging around a bag full of camera equipment, and you want to be able to respond quickly to your surroundings to capture unique shots. So, we recommend choosing an All-In-One zoom lens from Tamron.
The 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 DI III RXD (Model A071) is a great option as a mirrorless lens for Sony E-mount cameras. Or, if you need extra reach, consider the 28-300mm F/4-7.1 DI III VC VXD (model A074). We recommend the 18-300mm F/ 3.5-6.3 DI III_A VC VXD (Model B061) for APS-C Sony E and Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras. These lenses provide excellent performance and remarkable versatility since you can zoom effortlessly from wide to tele and even get very close-up to your subject as well.
TIP 2: Pay Attention to Your Surroundings
Particularly if you live in the area and have been to certain parts of the town a hundred times, you’ll tend to overlook unique objects and scenes that you often see during your day-to-day routine. Try to pay attention to your surroundings and identify subjects that will provide great shots, such as a unique statue, a beautiful tree, a brick building, a scenic stream, and other such subjects.
TIP 3: Go Off the Beaten Path
Whether it’s a little-visited park, a back alley, an abandoned building, or any other subject, taking the time to venture off of the beaten path will give you a lot of opportunities to photograph unique subjects – and it’s a great way to explore your town, too!
