Tamron Telephoto Camera Lenses
Telephoto lenses from Tamron are some of the highest-performing and most versatile pieces of equipment you will ever use. Designed to elevate the shooting experience in a wide variety of scenarios, a Tamron telephoto zoom lens brings you closer to your subjects and allows you to capture them in stunning detail.
At Tamron, you’ll find telephoto lenses in unique focal lengths that will enhance your shooting experience. We’ve taken great care to ensure they provide a natural perspective and exceptional optical performance across the entire range, so you can always get a great shot no matter where your subject is. Our lenses are compatible with cameras from leading manufacturers like Nikon, Canon, Sony, and Fujifilm. No matter what lens you choose, we guarantee it will offer comfortable, capable, and consistent performance.
Super telephoto lenses let you fill the frame with far-off subjects and are especially useful for wildlife photography and even landscapes where you want to isolate a subject or compress the scene. Telephoto lenses are also ideal for portrait photography, particularly those with a fast aperture that will make your subject pop off from the background and provide a pleasing bokeh effect. Armed with a Tamron super telephoto lens, you will always be able to get a clear shot of your subject without moving your feet.
Every telephoto lens from Tamron comes packed with advanced and exclusive technologies that enable it to perform so well. This includes LD (low dispersion) and XLD (extra low dispersion) elements to control aberrations, proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) to take the shakiness out of handheld shooting, precise VXD or USD AF (autofocus), and much more.

Tamron’s current telephoto zoom lenses are designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras. The 70-180mm, 50-400mm, and 70-300mm are available for Sony E and Nikon Z, the 50-300mm for Sony E, and the 150-500mm for Sony E, Fujifilm X, and Nikon Z.
Tamron’s current telephoto zoom lenses cover focal lengths from 50mm to 500mm. The lineup includes the 70-180mm F2.8 G2, 50-300mm, 50-400mm, 70-300mm, and 150-500mm, ranging from a fast constant-aperture zoom for portraits and sports to ultra-telephoto reach for wildlife and birds.
Features include compact and lightweight designs, superior image quality with special lens elements to reduce aberrations, and Vibration Compensation for stable shots. Moisture-resistant constructions and fluorine coatings let you shoot without hesitation in inclement weather. Tamron’s fast aperture telephoto zooms are the lightest in their class. The ultra-telephoto zooms offer tremendous reach for birding and other wildlife subjects, as well as sports, landscape and more.
Four Tamron telephoto zoom lenses feature VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization: the 70-180mm F2.8 G2, 50-300mm, 50-400mm, and 150-500mm. Tamron’s VC technology helps reduce camera shake for sharper handheld images, especially at longer focal lengths. The 70-300mm does not include built-in VC.
The Tamron 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD is Tamron’s longest current telephoto zoom lens, reaching 500mm on a full-frame camera and 750mm full-frame equivalent on an APS-C camera. This super-telephoto zoom is ideal for wildlife, bird, and sports photography, offering powerful reach, fast VXD autofocus, and VC image stabilization in a relatively compact design.
For wildlife and bird photography, the Tamron 150-500mm offers the longest reach, while the 50-400mm provides greater framing flexibility. For sports and action, the 70-180mm F2.8 G2 offers a bright constant aperture and fast autofocus. For portraits, the 70-180mm F2.8 G2 delivers flattering perspectives and beautiful background blur.
