Pro photographer Ian Plant shares some of his favorite artistic techniques for taking nature and travel photos that go beyond mere snapshots. He’ll discuss the creative use of light, composition techniques, going wider to provide context and tell a story, creative camera settings, and learning how to capture the magic of the moment.

In the afternoon we will meet up again at Parfrey’s Glen State Nature area for the hands on portion.

Join Tamron and Cardinal Camera for a 2-part workshop at Luna Parc Atelier with professional photographer Ken Hubbard and Patty Gregitis of Tamron’s sales division. On Thursday , September 24th an in person seminar will cover photography tips and Luna Parc’s guidelines as a semi-private museum, and home of artist Ricky Boscarino. On Saturday, September 26th, join us on a round trip coach bus from Cardinal Camera leaving at 3:00pm for Luna Parc. Once there we’ll shoot from warm afternoon light through the night skies and rising full moon. Tamron lens loaners available to use at no charge throughout the time at the Luna Parc. Hidden among the trees is a remarkable collection of weathered vehicles, forgotten signs, handcrafted objects, and unexpected scenes.

Join Allen’s Camera, Tamron Americas, and Professional Photographer Rick Gerrity for a two-part photography experience devoted to finding compelling images in a visually complex environment. During the field session, Tamron will have free loaner lenses available, giving you the freedom to experiment with different focal lengths, new perspectives, and support your creativity.

The workshop begins at Allen’s Camera on Friday, October 2 at 5:30 p.m. During this classroom session, we’ll explore techniques for working with color, texture, shape, and natural light. We’ll also discuss how lens choice and perspective can transform the your subject – from wide angel shots to macro shots revealing every detail.

On Sunday, October 4, we’ll meet in the Egg Harbor area for a guided field session. You’ll photograph antique cars and trucks, fading paint, oxidized metal, vintage signs, woodland details, and some unexpected finds. You’ll be encouraged to create a collection of photographs that captures the atmosphere, mystery, and oddity of the place.

Special guest model Tiffani Nicole, known as @missrubeeanne – will bring vintage-inspired style to the setting, giving participants an opportunity to create environmental portraits that complement the history and character of the antique vehicles.

Patty Gregitis from Tamron and  Brendan “Fitz” Fitzpatrick of Allen’s Camera will be on location to provide assistance with composition, exposure, camera settings, and lens selection. His experienced eye and approachable teaching style will help photographers at every level find strong images within this extraordinary setting.

Participants should bring a camera, charged batteries, memory cards, comfortable closed-toe footwear, and clothing appropriate for the weather and terrain.
