Join Tamron and Hunt’s Photo Education on a 2-day video production workshop featuring The Kitchen in Melrose!

Tamron Americas and Hunt’s Photo Education are teaming up for a special video workshop led by renowned photographer and filmmaker André Costantini. In this hands-on event, participants will learn essential video production skills while collaborating on a branding-style video for The Kitchen–a cooking school near our Hunt’s Melrose location– for use on social media. The workshop offers a unique opportunity to work with industry professionals, gain practical experience, and contribute to a meaningful project supporting a local culinary institution. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced creator, this workshop promises valuable insights and a chance to make a real impact through visual storytelling!

This is a 2-Part class. Part 1 will be a Video Production Seminar on Friday October 17th, 6-8pm in our Hunt’s Melrose store location.  We will reconvene on Saturday, October 18th from 10am-12pm for our Hands-On Location Shoot at The Kitchen in Melrose, located about a mile from our Hunt’s Melrose store. After shooting, we will return to Hunt’s Melrose for lunch, provided by Tamron, from 12:30-1:30pm. We will then hold a Video Editing Class from 2-5pm in our Hunt’s Melrose classroom.

Rick Friedman’s Private Class: Creative Fast Lighting
As a magazine and corporate photographer I am often required to produce creative and interesting lighting in a very short period of time. On most of my assignments, I do not have the luxury of scouting locations and pre-planning the lighting. I have to go to the location, usually chosen by someone else, quickly determine what is the most telling photograph and create interesting light. A single still photograph, has to tell the story.

In this hands on, private class we will be photographing models and using the equipment I use on assignments. I will share how I interact with subject to get the photograph needed in a very short period of time.

We will go over how you plan for the unpredictable assignment, making sure you have everything you need, without have too much equipment. As I often work alone, there are times, too much equipment can get in the way of the shoot. We will set up scenarios, create and light the photographs and pose the subject. We will be working with strobes, continuous light, soft boxes, strip lights, grids, color gels, smoke machines.

At the end of this “Private Class”, you will have new photographs to add to your portfolio. This Private Class is perfect for portrait, corporate, event, wedding photographers and photojournalists. Any job where things are unpredictable and change quickly.
