    December 26, 2023, Commack, NY – Tamron Americas is delighted to unveil the winners of the Tamron User Photo/Video Contest 2023, a celebration of the extraordinary talents and unique perspectives captured through Tamron lenses. The competition, open to photographers and videographers/filmmakers in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, received an overwhelming response, showcasing the exceptional creativity of participants.

    The contest attracted entries in seven distinct categories: Travel/Landscape, Wildlife, Close-up/Fine Art, Portrait, Sports/Action, Photojournalism, and Video, and the judging process was carried out by an esteemed panel of Tamron’s Creative Collaborative professional photographers and videographers.

    The Grand Prize winner for still imagery is John Calvin (winning image pictured above). His captivating black and white image, captured in Great Sand Dunes National Park, showcases a meandering path of light and shadow through the dunes with distant hikers nearing the summit. Calvin used the Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD for Fujifilm X-mount to create his winning composition.


    “Sound of the Natural State Hype” by Chandler Weber, Grand Prize Winner, Video

    In the video category, the Grand Prize goes to Chandler Weber for his captivating video titled “Sound of the Natural State Hype.” The video features shots of an NCAA Division I Marching Band throughout their season and serves as a pregame hype video. Weber used a combination of Blackmagic and Nikon cameras paired with Tamron glass, employing five Tamron lenses (SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2, SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2, SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2, SP 35mm F/1.4 Di USD) to bring his vision to life.
