October 28, 2024, Commack, N.Y. –TAMRON Americas, a renowned leader in high-performance lenses for photography and videography, announces the launch of its 2nd Annual User Photo/Video Contest. This highly anticipated competition invites photographers and filmmakers using TAMRON lenses from the USA, Canada, and Mexico to showcase their creative talents. Submissions are open from October 28th through November 30th, 2024, with entries accepted across five categories: Landscape, Wildlife, Portrait, Macro, and Video.

Eligibility and Entry Requirements

The contest is open to photographers and videographers of all skill levels, provided that their entries are created using current TAMRON lenses, as listed on the company’s website. Whether you’re an enthusiast or a professional, this contest offers a unique opportunity to have your work recognized by industry experts while competing for impressive cash and lens prizes.

Participants can submit one entry per category, allowing them to showcase their versatility in various genres. Entries must adhere to specific guidelines, including file formats and technical requirements outlined below and on the contest page of the Tamron website.

Categories and Judging

Each submission will be judged by a member of the TAMRON Creative Collaborative, a team of professional photographers and videographers who specialize in their respective genres. The judging panel includes experts with profound knowledge in landscape, wildlife, portrait, macro photography, and filmmaking. Prizes

TAMRON will recognize outstanding creativity by awarding prizes to first, second, and third-place winners in the photography categories and a single first-place winner in the video category.

• 1st Place (Photo): Four photo category winners will receive $1,000 in cash, plus their choice of a select TAMRON lens valued at up to $1,299.
• 1st Place (Video): The first-place video winner will be awarded $1,000 and their choice of a select TAMRON lens, also valued up to $1,299.
• 2nd Place (Photo): Four second-place photo winners will receive $500 in cash, along with a TAMRON swag bag.
• 3rd Place (Photo): Four third-place photo winners will receive $300 and a TAMRON swag bag.

Winners will be featured across TAMRON’s social media platforms and other promotional channels, giving them valuable exposure in the photography and videography communities.

Submission Guidelines

Photo Entries:

• EXIF data is required for all image submissions, and finalists will be asked to provide RAW files to confirm the authenticity of their entries.
• Images must follow a strict 2:3 aspect ratio (horizontal or vertical). Submissions in panorama, square, or other aspect ratios will not be accepted.
• AI-generated images are strictly prohibited. All images must be created by the entrant and include EXIF data.
• Post-processing should be limited to standard color correction. Overly manipulated or composited images will not be considered.
• Black and white images are welcome.

Video Entries:

• Video entries should be between 1 and 5 minutes in length.
• All video submissions must be in MP4 format.
• Entries must include either a voice-over or music soundtrack, with proof of music licensing provided at the time of submission.

For both photo and video categories, the use of TAMRON lenses is mandatory, and participants should ensure that their lenses are listed on the TAMRON Americas website under the Photo Lenses section.
