Requirements set forth by Federal, State and Provincial authorities are designed to protect the privacy of individuals who obtain products or services for personal, family or household use. The regulations apply to all who store any form of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), such as Tamron Americas. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what Tamron Americas is doing to protect your privacy.

Tamron Americas collects nonpublic information about you from the following sources:

This Supplemental Privacy Notice for California Residents applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”). This supplemental notice is provided to you in order for us to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) and other California privacy laws. Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning used in this notice.

We collect personal information for the purposes of providing and improving our services, processing transactions, complying with legal obligations, and other purposes identified at the time of collection or as permitted by law. How Information is collected

Through your browser or device: Certain information is collected by most browsers or automatically through your device, such as your Media Access Control (MAC) address, computer type (Windows or Macintosh), screen resolution, operating system name and version, device manufacturer and model, language, Internet browser type and version and the name and version of the Services (such as the App) you are using. Through your use of the App: When you download and use the App, we and our service providers may track and collect App usage data, such as the date and time the App on your device accesses our servers and what information and files have been downloaded to the App based on your device number.

When doing so, we enter into a contract with the third party describing the purpose of such disclosure and requiring that such personal information be kept confidential and not used for any purpose except to perform the services contracted or respond to bona fide regulatory or law enforcement requests.

Your Rights and Choices

Certain privacy laws provide individuals with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your rights and explains how to exercise those rights. You also have any other rights available to you under applicable law.

Access to Specific Information and Data Portability Rights

You have the right to access your personal information held by Tamron Americas. Upon request, we will inform you of the existence, use, and disclosure of your personal information over the past 12 months and provide access to that information, subject to any applicable legal restrictions. You may also request the correction of any inaccuracies in your information. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose to you:

Deletion Request Rights

Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to:

4. Exercise free speech and ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights, or exercise another right provided for by law.
5. Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code § 1546 seq.).
6. Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when the information’s deletion may likely render impossible or seriously impair the research’s achievement, if you previously provided informed consent.
7. Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations based on your relationship with us.
8. Comply with a legal obligation.
9. Make other internal and lawful uses of that information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it.

For California residents: Only you or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child.

USE OF THE SERVICES BY MINORS

The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of fourteen (14), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age without verifiable parental consent.

You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:

• Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information (or their authorized representative).
• Describe your request with sufficient detail to allow us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.

Response Timing and Format

We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request as promptly as possible and always in accordance with applicable laws. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. If you have an account with us, we will deliver our written response to that account. If you do not have an account with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, based on your preference. Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the verifiable consumer request’s receipt. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.

We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request.

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights. Unless permitted by applicable law, we will not:

• Deny you goods or services.
• Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
• Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
• Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

Transfers outside your jurisdiction of residence

Some of our service providers may be located outside of your jurisdiction, including in the United States. When transferring personal information to service providers in other jurisdictions, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, in accordance with all relevant laws covering our operating locations. As a result, your personal information will be used, stored and/or accessed in countries outside of your jurisdiction of residence, including the United States. However, all such information will be protected in accordance with this Privacy Notice. Please note that when your personal information is located outside of your jurisdiction of residence. it will be subject to the laws of the country in which it is situated.

Retaining Your Personal Information

We will use, disclose, and retain personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected, except with your consent or as required by law. We will retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill those purposes.. Your personal information is securely stored until such time as it is no longer required, after which it is destroyed or rendered such that it is unable to identify you.

Changes to Our Privacy Notice

We reserve the right to amend this privacy notice at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes to this privacy notice, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our website homepage.
