Seth Macey
Seth Macey is a professional landscape and outdoor photographer, educator, content creator, and Tamron Americas Ambassador whose photography celebrates adventure, exploration, and the beauty of the natural world. Whether photographing rugged mountain ranges, dramatic coastlines, or quiet forest scenes, Seth combines technical precision with a passion for visual storytelling to create images that inspire others to explore with a camera.
As both a working photographer and educator based in Ontario, Canada, Seth, of Seth Macey Photography, has spent years helping photographers build confidence in the field through workshops, presentations, online education, and hands-on instruction. His teaching focuses on understanding natural light, composing stronger landscape images, selecting the right equipment, and adapting to constantly changing outdoor conditions.
Seth’s experience of photographing in challenging environments has given him practical insight into travel photography, hiking with camera gear, weather planning, and maximizing opportunities in unpredictable conditions. He believes some of the best photographs come from patience, preparation, and returning to a location multiple times to experience different lights and seasons.
When he isn’t photographing or teaching, Seth enjoys hiking, camping, road trips, and discovering new outdoor destinations throughout North America. He also enjoys running and training for endurance races, including 10Ks, half marathons, and full marathons. He has spent the past two years learning Norwegian and is an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction. Through his contributions to the Tamron blog, he shares landscape photography techniques, gear advice, creative inspiration, and field-tested tips that help photographers get the most from every adventure.
