Jacques Dumont
Jacques Dumont is a Canadian photographer, author, editor, and travel photographer whose career spanning several decades has made him a prominent figure in Canada’s photographic industry. His experience encompasses travel, landscape, portrait, and documentary photography. He combines strong technical expertise with a deep passion for visual storytelling.Â
Since launching PHOTO SÉLECTION magazine in 1980, later renamed PHOTO SOLUTION, Jacques has played a major role in educating photographers and promoting photographic excellence throughout Canada. He is also the founder of PHOTO DIGEST magazine. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the advancement of photography through his publications, conferences, events, and numerous educational initiatives, leaving a lasting impact on the Canadian photographic community.Â
As a Tamron collaborator, Jacques shares his expertise on lens technology, travel photography, and creative image-making, drawing from decades of hands-on experience gained through photographic assignments and travels around the world. His passion for photography, publishing, and knowledge sharing continues to inspire photographers of all levels to expand their creativity and technical skills.Â
Jacques also serves as a Curator for Team Canada at the World Photographic Cup (WPC), an international competition often compared to the Olympic Games of photography, bringing together more than 40 countries and showcasing photographic excellence on a global stage.Â
