André Costantini

André Costantini is a Regional Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, director, cinematographer, editor, professional photographer, and educator with more than 30 years of experience in visual storytelling. His work spans documentary filmmaking, commercial production, fine art photography, portraiture, travel, and editorial assignments. André holds a BFA in photography and painting from Mason Gross School of the Arts and has built a career around creating imagery that connects viewers to people, places, and meaningful stories.

Throughout his career, André has worked on a wide range of photographic and motion projects for clients that include Discovery Channel, Criterion Collection, American Repertory Theater, and Tamron Americas. In 1998, he worked alongside legendary photojournalist Eddie Adams to photograph the restoration of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper in Milan. He has also served on the staff of the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop and has produced, directed, filmed, and edited documentary, commercial, educational, and creative projects around the world.

André received a Regional Emmy Award for Ground Intelligence: Covering COVID With John Moore, a documentary that followed Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist John Moore as he documented the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Fairfield County, Connecticut. André served as the film’s producer, videographer, and editor, shaping an intimate account of healthcare workers, first responders, patients, and families confronting the early stages of the pandemic. The documentary aired on PBS and Connecticut Public Television. His filmmaking credits also include co-directing and photographing the feature-length documentary Bel Borba Aqui, filmed in Salvador, Brazil, about the life and creative process of Brazilian artist Bel Borba.

An experienced photography and filmmaking instructor, André has taught seminars and workshops throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. His approachable teaching style combines technical knowledge, creative experimentation, and real-world production experience to help photographers and filmmakers communicate more effectively through their images.

André believes that photography and filmmaking are most powerful when they create meaningful connections between people and provide viewers with a deeper understanding of a subject or place.
