Outstanding Close-Up Performance with 1:1.9 Magnification—Enjoy Half-Macro Shooting
At the 25mm wide end, the lens achieves a minimum object distance of just 6.3″” (0.16m) allowing for an impressive maximum magnification ratio of 1:1.9—an improvement over the 1:3.1 of the first-generation model at its 28mm. This allows half-macro shooting at the 25mm wide end and lets you get closer to your subject across the entire zoom range.

Compatible with TAMRON Lens Utility™ Software for Easy Customization
The 25-200mm F2.8-5.6 G2 is compatible with the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility software (for PC and Android™ [1] OS) that was developed in-house by TAMRON [2]. TAMRON Lens Utility for mobile is especially useful for outdoor shooting. This software lets you assign practical functions to the lens for both video and still photography using a PC, smartphone or tablet, eliminating the need for traditional video equipment. Designed to be intuitive and easy to use, TAMRON Lens Utility increases lens functionality and elevates your creative experience. For example, you can customize the Focus Set Button to toggle between AF and MF, tailoring the lens to your preferred shooting style. The PC version also allows you to update your lens firmware[3].

Unified 67mm Filter Size
Nearly all TAMRON mirrorless lenses have a 67mm filter size. This allows you to use the same filter across a wide range of lenses. PL and ND filters are typically expensive, so sharing saves money. Additionally, this eliminates the need to search for caps with different diameters when switching lenses. All lenses in this series are compact, lightweight and extremely portable, making it easier when carrying multiple lenses at the same time.

Zoom Ring, Focus Ring
The smooth ring operation featured on the 90mm F2.8 MACRO (Model F072), is inherited and offers the enhanced ring torque with comfortable resistance from the zoom and focus ring. Compared to the 1st-generation, operation is further refined. By carefully choosing the right material in the internal mechanism, adjustments are now smoother and more precise, allowing for effortless, accurate control over focus and zoom.

New Sculpted Shape
The diameters of the zoom ring and focus ring have been enlarged, and the body areas around them have been slimmed down to give the lens a contoured profile that makes it easier to grip. This creates a comfortable, uneven shape that fits snugly and naturally in the hand.

Deep, Luxurious Black Exterior Finish
The surface of the lens exterior is shiny black, much glossier than previous models. Improved abrasion resistance makes the lens harder to scratch and resists fingerprints.

The application of BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating for suppressing reflections on lens element surfaces minimizes unwanted flare and ghosting to deliver sharp, crisp, high-contrast images.
The 25-200mm F2.8-5.6 VXD G2 has a switch that can lock the zoom ring at the 25mm focal length if desired. This prevents the unwanted extension of the lens barrel due to the weight of the lens during transportation.
For greater protection when shooting outdoors, leak-resistant seals throughout the lens barrel help protect your equipment.

The front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound that is water- and oil-repellent. The lens surface is easier to wipe clean and is less vulnerable to the damaging effects of dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints.
